The American Folk Festival was not just a 3-day festival with music, food, and crafts held annually for 18 years on the Bangor Waterfront. It helped to spark the entertainment landscape - and the physical landscape - of Bangor. It never would have happened without the support of organizers, volunteers, staff, board members, sponsors, donors, and the tens of thousands of people who descended upon the Waterfront in late August each year. Thank you all.

If you visited once or twice and want to come back to Bangor, here's what you need to know.

If you miss the American Folk Festival and would like to experience something similar, we recommend the Lowell Folk Festival in Lowell, MA as the closest geographic festival to Bangor, Maine.

Thank you for the sheer joy, the memories, and the fun had at a festival that helped to transform a waterfront and a city.
