Additional Information: Volunteer Appreciation Drawing Volunteer Orientation Information Job Descriptions Volunteer Appreciation Drawing As our way of thanking you for sharing your time, talents & feedback with the American Folk Festival, if you fill out and submit a volunteer survey by 6pm on Festival Sunday, your name will be put in a drawing for prizes that include: a 2010 posted signed by performers, Festival merchandise, and more! The drawing will take place the week following the Festival. Winners will be notified by phone. Prizes will be held at the Festival office through September 30, 2010.
Surveys will be available during the Festival at Volunteer Registration, any of the (4) Information Booths & at the Public Survey tent. After you have filled your survey out, you may drop it off at any of those locations. Volunteer Orientation Information At orientation volunteers will receive:
1- their schedule
2- their t-shirt
3- ticket to the private Saturday night party
4- parking pass*
* Volunteers park free at Bass Park the day(s) they volunteer. Orientation is being held at The Richard E Dyke Center for Family Business, Husson College in Bangor. Directions: To drive to Husson, from the north or south, take Interstate 95 to Bangor and take exit 185, Broadway. Turn right off the exit, and go 1/2 mile. At the light just after the Rite Aid, take a left turn on to Husson Ave and proceed to the stop sign. The campus will be directly in front of you. Take a right. The Richard E. Dyke Center is the first building on your left. NEW Volunteers
If you are a new volunteer, you must attend the orientation session. If you live over 1/2 hour away, please contact Debbi @debbi@americanfolkfestival.com so arrangements can be made. Tuesday August 11 from 5:30-6:30pm
At orientation, there will be 15-20 minutes of presentations by Festival staff and volunteers, and then you'll meet with your area leader(s) for a brief training. RETURNING Volunteers
If you are a returning volunteer, you have three options for picking up your volunteer information and t-shirt:
1- using the express lane at the following orientation: Tuesday, August 11th - stop by anytime between 6-7pm. 2- on August 25th from 5:30-7pm you can stop by the Festival office to pick up your volunteer information and t-shirt. Please note that this is the only time that volunteer t-shirts will be available for pick-up at the Festival office.
3- on Festival Friday between the hours of 11a-3p you can pick up your information and t-shirt at the Volunteer Registration tent, which is opening early just for this purpose.
