Volunteer Appreciation Drawing
As our way of thanking you for sharing your time, talents & feedback with the American Folk Festival, if you fill out and submit a volunteer survey by 6pm on Festival Sunday, your name will be put in a drawing for prizes that include: a 2010 poster signed by performers, Festival merchandise, and more! The drawing will take place the week following the Festival. Winners will be notified by phone. Prizes will be held at the Festival office through September 30, 2010.
Surveys will be available during the Festival at Volunteer Registration, any of the (4) Information Booths & at the Public Survey tent. After you have filled your survey out, you may drop it off at any of those locations.
Volunteer Orientation Information
When: Tuesday August 17th
Where: Beardsley Meeting House/Gracie Theater, Husson University, Bangor
What happens at orientation? Upon check-in, volunteers will get their schedule, parking pass (if needed) and most importantly, their volunteer t-shirt! Following check-in there will be a discussion about the changes to the 2010 AFF, and what you - as a volunteer (and Festival-goer) - need to know. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session. Afterwards, volunteers can say hello to their volunteer leaders (and volunteer friends), and that's it!
Who needs to attend orientation? This year, because of the changes facing the Festival, we are asking all volunteers - both new and returning to attend orientation. It shouldn't take more than an hour of your time. If you live over 1/2 hour away, you aren't expected to attend, but please contact Debbi and she can make sure you get the information you need.
(There
is a training session for Bucket Brigade & Donation Station
Greeters taking place right after orientation - from 6:30-7:30pm in the
Gracie Theater.)
Directions: To drive to Husson, from the north or south, take Interstate 95 to Bangor and take exit 185, Broadway. Turn right off the exit, and go 1/2 mile. At the light just after the Rite Aid, take a left turn on to Husson Ave and proceed to the stop sign. Once you get to Husson, there will be signs pointing you in the right direction.
If you cannot attend orientation, there are 2 more options for you to pick up your schedule, parking pass and t-shirt:
1- on August 25 from 5:30-7pm you can stop by the Festival office to pick up your volunteer information and t-shirt. Please note that this is the only time that volunteer t-shirts will be available for pick-up at the Festival office.
2- on Festival Friday between the hours of 11a-3p you can pick up your information and t-shirt at the Volunteer Registration tent, which is opening early just for this purpose.
